Pennant Hills Road ramp closures

23 July 2010

The Hills M2 Pennant Hills Rd eastbound exit will be closed overnight in the coming weeks for motorway resurfacing works a spokesperson for the Hills M2 said today.

The tolled exit ramp (eastbound) will be closed on the evenings of 28, 29 July and 2, 3, 4 August from 9pm until 5 am the following morning.

The spokesperson said that these closures were required to replace the surface of the motorway ramp to ensure that Hills M2 maintains high standards of safety and provides a smoother ride for vehicles.

"As a result, there is no access between the M2 and Pennant Hills Road for vehicles travelling eastbound on the motorway during these times," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said because of its seamless link from Westlink M7, this tolled Pennant Hills Road ramp on the M2 is part of the north / south truck route heavily utilised after 9pm.

"Anyone who uses this ramp after 9pm, in particular heavy vehicle operators are advised to plan ahead of time and work out the most appropriate alternative route on these nights. The Hills M2 website will provide a detour route map to assist motorists to plan their journey.

"Overnight closures will be advertised via on road variable message signs (VMS) with up to date information about the road work available at www.hillsm2.com.au, should any changes to the work program be required due to weather."

The spokesperson said that every effort will be made to minimise the impact of the work on the community, however some level of disruption is inevitable.

The management of Hills M2 regrets any inconvenience caused during this time.
